Opening of the Regional Resource Centre in Samtskhe-Javakheti

On June 17, 2009 the Regional Resource Centre of Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies was opened in Akhalkalaki, Samtskhe-Javakheti. The Centre will operate under the framework of the program - “Enhancing Capacity of Ethnic Civil Society Groups to Actively Participate in Public Policy Debate”. The program is implemented by the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies with the financial support of the Government of Finland and aims to empower integration processes in Georgia through development of democracy and good governance in ethnic minority regions of the country. The opening ceremony was attended by the representatives of civil society, local community and local government. The event was covered by local and nationwide TV companies.
