Chinese companies want to increase transportation of cargoes through the Middle Corridor, Aliyev says

Source: Trend On April 29, according to China News, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan-China relations were strategically important and had a lot of potential. "I am very glad that the relations are developing very successfully," Aliyev said during the international conference ‘South Caucasus: Development and Cooperation’. He said that Azerbaijan had "already started to receive cargo from China, but not in big volumes because we clearly understand that China has diversified supply routes through different sources. And we just tried to make our route more attractive." According to Aliyev, the Azerbaijani side had recently got several messages from Chinese companies that they wanted to increase transportation of cargoes through the Middle Corridor. He added that Azerbaijan’s cooperation with China was not limited just to transit and transportation. "We are now in the process of creating the Alat Free Economic Zone, which will receive its first residents, I hope, next year… We would like to see Chinese companies as investors here”.

Chinese Embassy in Georgia is holding events on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties
Source: Chinese Embassy in Georgia On May 1, the Chinese Embassy in Georgia reported that on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Georgia, to further strengthen cultural ties between the two countries, the Chinese Embassy was launching a Chinese-language song contest entitled “Let's sing to China-Georgia friendship together and build better future”. Co-organizers of this event were Confucius Institutes at the Free University of Tbilisi and at the Alte University, and Confucius Class at the Kutaisi University. The Chinese Embassy in Georgia also organized a video contest called "Friendship is Eternal, Together for a Better Future", and a calligraphy and painting competition: "Let's write a new chapter of China-Georgia friendship together and draw a bright future for the two countries". Co-organizers were the aforementioned Confucius Institutes and media company "For You".
Chinese Bridge contest to be held in Georgia On April 30, the Confucius Institute at the Free University of Tbilisi reported that the registration for the Chinese Bridge contest had been announced for students learning Chinese.
Confucius Institute in Azerbaijan held another cultural event On April 28, the Confucius Institute at the Baku State University and the Azerbaijan Research Center at the Chinese Anhui University jointly held an online lecture "Forbidden City" in the series of "Chinese Traditional Architecture".
