TITR countries to expand capacity amid the growth of transit cargo between China and Europe

The heads of sectoral ministries of the countries participating in the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) are working on synchronizing the flow of cargo, Secretary-General of Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Gaidar Abdikerimov told Trend on June 26. Abdikerimov also said that work was underway to "expand the capacity", against the background of the growth of transit cargo between China and Europe along TITR: "Here we are talking about both investments and technological improvement of transport infrastructure".

Chinese Ambassador and Georgian parliamentary speaker note "positive dynamics" in relations

On June 27, the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili held a meeting with the Ambassador of China Zhou Qian, Georgian Parliament reported.

Reportedly, the parties noted that recent cooperation between Georgia and China had revealed "positive dynamics". The parties also expressed their commitment to further develop their cooperation.

Papuashvili expressed his gratitude to China for "supporting the territorial integrity and the non-recognition policy" and affirmed the support of Georgia for the "One China" policy.

The Head of the Georgia-China Parliamentary Friendship Group, Giorgi Amilakhvari also attended the meeting.

On June 29, the Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian met with the First Deputy Speaker of Georgian Parliament Giorgi Volski, the Chinese Embassy in Georgia reported. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral relations, communication and cooperation between the two legislative bodies among other issues.

On July 1, the Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan reported that Seymur Mammadov, the director of the Eurasia-Azerbaijan (EurAsiaAz) international expert club published an article entitled "the Chinese Communist Party: 101 years of development". In this pro-Beijing article, Mammadov wrote that "relying on the people, their love and trust, the Chinese Communist Party managed to overcome many barriers and made a real miracle, which is commonly called the 'Chinese miracle'". According to him, socialism with Chinese characteristics "proved to be effective and viable".

Reportedly, to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party, Rafiq Abbasov, the Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Languages delivered a speech entitled "Inter-party dialogue between the Chinese Communist Party and the New Azerbaijan Party on the Silk Road" at the summer online lecture "China: Society and culture".

On June 29, the International Sister Cities Cooperation Forum of City Clusters along the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River was held in China, Wuhan, China Daily reported.

The Head of Foreign Relations and International Projects Department at Kutaisi City Hall, Shorena Khukhua attended the event and delivered an online speech. Reportedly, she noted that Kutaisi had made many international sister cities, including Nanchang and that more extensive and in-depth exchanges would be developed in the future.

Foreign Affairs Office of Nanchang Municipal People’s Government representatives and others also participated in the meeting.
