The Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan met with the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia, Fan Yong at the Chinese Embassy, First Channel News reported on February 8.

Reportedly, they held discussions and exchanged ideas on Armenian-Chinese bilateral relations and practical cooperation in various fields.

 

The number of containers shipped from China and to Georgia via the Middle Corridor increased

According to the statistics of Georgian Railways, in 2022, the number of containers shipped from China and to Georgia via the Middle Corridor amounted to 10,936 TEU. Compared to 2021 (10,094 TEU),, this is an 8.3% increase Bm.ge reported on February 10.

 

Chinese Ambassador and Azerbaijani representatives discuss China-proposed Global Development Initiative

On February 9, the Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Guo Min met with the representatives of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Affairs and reportedly discussed implementing the China-proposed Global Development Initiative and promoting China-Azerbaijan "practical cooperation" in various fields, the Chinese Embassy in Azerbaijan reported.

The Chinese Ambassador informed the Azerbaijani side about the CCP Chairman Xi Jinping's proposed Global Development Initiative. The Embassy report said that China was willing to work with Azerbaijan to promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative.

Reportedly, the Azerbaijani representatives spoke positively of the Global Development Initiative’s "significance", saying that the Azerbaijani side attached great importance to developing relations with China, supported the China-proposed Global Development Initiative and Global Security Initiative, and was willing to work with China to implement "the important consensus reached by the heads of states, and push forward the friendly cooperation between the two countries in various fields to a new level".

 

Chinese Ambassador and Armenian representatives discuss "issues of mutual interest"

On February 10, the Chinese Ambassador to Armenia Fan Yong wrote that it was a great pleasure to meet with the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia Narek Mkrtchyan, and the Head of Unified Social Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Issues of Armenia Eduard Petrosyan at the Embassy. He noted that they exchanged views and discussed issues of mutual interest.

 

Shipping terms and tariffs on the China-Europe and China-Turkey routes approved at the Middle Corridor assembly

The Georgian Railway delegation took part in a meeting of the General Assembly of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor) in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Georgian Railways reported on February 10.

At the meeting, the 2023 action plan was approved, as well as the shipping terms and tariffs on the China-Europe (Black Sea ports) and China-Turkey routes. Furthermore, in order to transport the increased volumes of cargoes, the parties reportedly agreed that more attention would be paid to improving the coordination of the participating parties and fully digitizing the corridor in 2023.

 

EurAsiaAz Director praises China in article published at CGTN

On February 10, the director of the international expert club EurAsiaAz and editor-in-chief of Azerbaijan news agency Baku Tribune, Seymur Mammadov gave praise to China in an article "China's humanitarian diplomacy: Aid at the command of the heart" published by the Chinese state-controlled CGTN.
