Rondeli Russian Military Digest

The Battle of Ukraine, Special Issue 41, From 20 June, 12:00 to 22 June, 11:00 Kyiv Time

This is a special issue of the Rondeli Russian Military Digest dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian War, composed on the basis of numerous open sources.

 

Donbas Area – Northeast

Russians made progress in the northwestern and southern parts of Severodonetsk. Street battles within the city continued. Southeast of Severodonetsk, Russians took the town of Borivske.

Russians also managed to advance in the area southeast and south of Lysychansk approaching this city and increasing the threat of encirclement of the Ukrainians in the Hirske-Zolote pocket. Taking the western part of Toshkivka that had remained under Ukrainian control, and retaking Ustynivka, Russians advanced in the northwestern direction capturing Myrna Dolyna and Pidlisne as well as either partly or completely taking Bila Hora.

Russian forces also entered Hirske launching fighting within this town. Ukrainian forces were reported withdrawing from Zolote to avoid encirclement. Meanwhile, Ukrainians counterattacked in Komyshuvakha with fighting taking place in this village.

Ukrainians repelled new Russian attacks towards Mykolaivka and the Bakhmut-Lysychansk highway. Russian attacks also continued in the southern part of this area without reported major territorial changes.

Donbas Area – North

Ukrainian counterattack succeeded in retaking all or most of Bohorodychne. Heavy fighting continued near this town as well as near the nearby Dolyna and Krasnopillya.

 

Donbas Area – South and Zaporizhzhia Area

Ukrainians attacked near Vuhledar liberating the town of Pavlivka. Ukrainian attacks with possible limited advance were also reported in other parts of the frontline in this area including south of Hulyaipole.

 

Black Sea Area

The fighting for Kyselivka that had been taking place over the last few days resulted in Ukrainians liberating the village.

No major territorial changes occurred in Donbas Area – Southeast and Kharkiv Area.
