On September 5, the Chinese Ambassador to Georgia Zhou Qian published a letter on the webpage of the Embassy of China in Georgia. The Ambassador wrote that Georgia was China’s "reliable partner". "It was one of the first to respond to the Belt and Road Initiative," Zhou Qian noted.

While the Ambassador emphasized that the last two years had had a significant impact on the contacts between China and Georgia, he noted that the political, economic, and cultural ties between the two countries did not stop. "At the initial stage of the pandemic, China provided Georgia with a large number of vaccines and shared its experience in the fight against Covid-19. The cooperation against the epidemic deepened the trust and friendship between the two countries," the Chinese Ambassador wrote.

"Recently, China softened its visa policy with a number of countries, including Georgia," the Ambassador said while discussing China's "dynamic zero policy" on the epidemical situation and continued that the traffic between the two countries was steadily opening. "After the turning point in the fight against the epidemic, the political, economic, trade, tourism and other ties between China and Georgia will enter a new phase of development and produce more fruitful results," he wrote.
