International Workshop “Georgia: How to Enhance Participation to the CSDP?”

On May 3, 2016 the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies hosted a roundtable discussion – “Georgia:  How to Enhance Participation to the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP)?” 

The project was implemented by the Consortium led by KANTOR Management Consultant C.S funded by the European Union.

The opening remarks were made by Kakha Gogolashvili, Director of the European Studies at the Georgian Foundation for Strategic and International Studies. The speakers of the workshop included George Niculescu, Grazvydas Jasutis, CSDP Study Team and  Hans-Jurgen Zahorka, Key Expert on the Eastern Partnership.

Enhancing Georgia’s participation to CSDP, prospects for applications of EU’s solidarity clause and mutual assistance clause for Georgia were discussed at the meeting.

The workshop attendees included analyst, experts and the representatives of non-governmental organizations, thinks-tanks, as well as officials from Georgian government and EU Delegation.
